QuickSnip is a native Mac screenshot app from IT Economy GmbH, Herisau, Switzerland. This policy explains the app and the website at quicksnip.iteconomy.ch.
1. Who is responsible
IT Economy GmbH, Saum 12, 9100 Herisau, Switzerland, is responsible for this app and website. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@iteconomy.ch.
2. The QuickSnip app
We do not collect data from the app. QuickSnip has no account system, analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs or cloud backend. It does not transmit screenshots, screen content, annotations or usage information to us or to third parties.
- Screenshots: screen images and annotations are processed in memory on your Mac. QuickSnip does not create a screenshot history or automatically upload images.
- Clipboard: QuickSnip copies your edited image to the macOS system clipboard. Other apps may access the clipboard according to macOS permissions and your actions. Clipboard history tools and Apple features such as Universal Clipboard are controlled by your system settings.
- Exports: images are written only when you choose QuickSave or Save As. Exported files remain in the folder you choose until you manage or delete them. If that folder is synced by iCloud Drive or another service, that service handles the files under its own terms and settings.
- Local settings: tool preferences, shortcut choices, setup status and your selected save-folder bookmark are saved locally. In the App Store edition these settings are stored in the app's macOS sandbox container. They are not sent to us.
3. Permissions
Screen Recording allows QuickSnip to capture the screen when you initiate a screenshot. QuickSnip takes a still capture; it does not run a continuous recording session. The app does not record audio, use your microphone or access your camera.
Folder access is granted through the standard macOS folder or save dialog. Desktop is the suggested QuickSave location. A security-scoped bookmark lets the App Store edition reuse the folder you choose after restarting.
The App Store edition uses public APIs for the keyboard shortcut and optional mouse trigger. It does not request Accessibility or Input Monitoring. A separately distributed direct edition may offer optional global trackpad gestures or a consuming mouse trigger; permissions for those features are requested only when you enable them. You can review or revoke system permissions in macOS System Settings.
4. This website
The website has no visitor accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, third-party fonts, embedded social widgets or contact database. It does not set cookies or store information in your browser's local storage.
To deliver and secure a website, the hosting infrastructure necessarily processes connection information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information and error details. Operational or security logs may contain this information. It is used to operate the site, diagnose errors and prevent abuse, and is subject to the server's log rotation and retention settings. We do not use it to build visitor profiles or for advertising. A short-lived, in-memory counter may limit repeated contact submissions to prevent abuse.
The website is hosted on infrastructure provided by Hetzner in the European Economic Area. Hosting and email providers may process the technical data needed to operate their services on our behalf.
5. Contact requests
If you submit the contact form or email us, you choose to provide your email address, an optional name and your message. We use that information to answer your question and handle your request. The form sends an email to info@iteconomy.ch; the website does not write the message into a database. The resulting correspondence is held in our email system, and transient mail queues and routine backups may contain it.
We retain correspondence only for as long as it is needed to handle your request, any continuing support relationship, and applicable legal obligations. You may ask us to delete it when those purposes no longer apply. Please do not include passwords, financial information or sensitive screenshots in the form.
6. Sharing and Apple services
We do not sell personal information. We share contact information only with service providers needed to deliver and handle your message, or where legally required. Apple separately operates the Mac App Store, purchases, system permission controls and any diagnostic services you enable; Apple's own privacy policy applies to those services.
7. Your choices and rights
You can use the app without creating an account or contacting us. You control your exports, clipboard, local app settings and macOS permissions. For personal information you have provided to us through support, you may request access, correction or deletion, and exercise other rights available under applicable data protection law. Write to info@iteconomy.ch. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or your competent supervisory authority.
8. Updates to this policy
We will update this page if the app or website's data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
